Cambridge Academic Venues

Brief2Event were invited to view several academic and larger venues in Cambridge over the weekend. Having only spent a few hours in Cambridge previously, I was looking forward to learning more about this historic city.

We arrived mid-afternoon at Madingley Hall on the out skirts of Cambridge and just a few minutes from the M11. The hotel is part of the University and is set in lovely gardens. Meeting rooms will work well for training and mid-size dinners.

After a bowl food supper and successful and fun General Knowledge quiz we were transferred to Robison College in executive coaches.

Located just 5 minutes from the city centre, Robinson College has two auditoriums, a large dining hall suitable for Expo and networking and enough accommodation for over 250 delegates in twin rooms.

Next was another fabulous Cambridge venue, Westminster College. One of the older College’s in Cambridge, this city centre venue is available all year round for events. The Dining Hall looked wonderful all setup for Christmas.

After a walking tour via St Johns College and Corpus Christi we arrived at Kings. Amazing architecture was on show at this College and there are some lovely small meeting rooms, ideal for lunches, private dining and small meetings.

After lunch we looked around the breath-taking Chapel – an absolute must if ever you visit Cambridge.

After a small break we were back to Cambridge Corn Exchange and Guildhall to view some large (500+) venues and a production of Sister Act. Catering was provided by The Pint Shop – superb scotch eggs and real ale!

I found Cambridge to be quicker to get to than I expected and for those running events there I would suggest a dinner in one of the college’s is a must.
